Alright, so do you want to hear the wackiest thing that happened to me today? SO.. I'm driving down the highway, (like a normal person) and then I realize, " Oh man, I'm going to miss my exit!" So naturally, I cut off some guy, like any person would do and guess what? I cut off a deranged man. After I cut him off, he thought it would be fun to tailgate me for 5 minutes (not exaggerating) then when I got to my stop light, he pulled up next to me and started yelling at me. Good thing my music was turned up loud so I could pretend like I couldn't hear him or even acknowledge his presence. After the light turned green he thought he'd follow me for about a minute then he finally went about his way. I really thought this man was going to bust out a gun and shoot me.
So, what can we all take from this story you ask? First, never cut someone off, ESPECIALLY if you're not in any hurry. Second, if you choose to cut someone off, make sure it is not a man, women typically don't do or react in a crazy manner, such as this man did. Third, if you are ever cut off, let's just be loving people- treat others the way you would have them treat you, right?
Oh life, and the things that happen. It's finally the weekend! Happy day everyone!
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord. Psalm 19:14

Hooray, Hooray, there's a birthday today!
Even though these last few days have been kind of crazy, I think blogging is good for the mind. First, I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to my roommate Ashley! 20 years old! Hooray! Second, I made a really amazing decision today on buying a new sweater. Take a look!
Cute ain't it? Except I got it in grey so it's even better! Only $20 at Old Navy and I got the last one!
Something I believe God has shown me lately, is the wonderful community of fellow believers I have. God has been too good to me by having people from my old and new church calling me, wondering what's going on and offering their prayers. Normally, my heart would feel heavy right about this time but being constantly reminded to have faith and trust in God has given me such a peace that helps me know, no matter what happens, I'll be just fine.
Well that's all for now but felt I needed to get that out! Have a happy day!

Dearly Loved.
Today was an exciting day. I felt like God took over today and said, " Joy, today you will think about me and be reminded of how much I love you." It was incredible. First of all, I'd like to thank Jimmy Needham for a couple of his songs, but one in particular is Dearly Loved. I recommend you watch/listen to it and just take it all in. I don't know about you but I definitely go through periods where I feel like I have just failed God and I don't know how to make it up to Him. I'm so thankful for the scripture and to know that God's grace is sufficient for me. It's so good to know I can't earn grace.. because I probably wouldn't be able to earn it at all. Ha. Praise God for His Goodness.
Something great I got to do today was go to Denton Bible Student Ministries. I was so blessed by being welcomed by everyone I saw. I missed my fellow leaders and my huddle group girls! I was able to sit in with my old group and their new leader and just share different life situations and prayer requests. I felt God move so much. After I left, I nearly wanted to cry because I missed student ministries and the wonderful opportunity God blessed me with by leading younger girls. Being able to see God work so very very often is so amazing! I can only hope and pray that God has a young girls ministry in my future and that I will be able to see God move and work in the hearts and lives of girls as I've experienced at Denton Bible.
Well hope everyone is having a great wednesday! If you want to hear another sweet song click here!

take up your cross
Well today has been a semi- interesting day. I'm a little tired but it happens. I saw something very interesting today. As I was coming out of class, I saw this guy that had this huge cross about 4 feet tall and it was kinda in his backpack, kinda not. I wish I took a picture but I felt that would be stalker like. Maybe if he still has it Thursday I'll ask him what it means to him or why he's doing it. I regret not talking to him earlier because I can't stop thinking about it.
I also had a very fun dance party with my sister today! We both enjoyed dancing to "Alejandro," by Lady Gaga. For all you Lady Gaga haters out there, sorry but her songs rock. That's all I'm going to say about that.
Another interesting fact, former President, George W. Bush, is coming to UNT, November 17, and guess who's going? ME! ME! ME! This might make the list of " Joy's top ten favorite moments in life." Who knows, we shall see.
That's sadly all for now, I have lesson plans, papers, and tests to study for. Hope everyone's having a fantastic week!

Freebirds, you made me happy today..
Well today was a nifty day! Today is what I considered my "break" from everything but sadly, it has already ended. Brad stopped by, which was pretty exciting, and we went out to dinner with Hannah, Russell, and Alyssa. We decided to eat at freebirds since the grand opening in Denton was yesterday and my goodness it was so packed! Here they are.. the freebird happy eaters..
It was pretty delicious too! I ordered the smallest burrito and could only eat half of it! Yep. I would definitely consider today a wonderful day filled with NCIS, Without a Trace, Criminal Minds, Freebirds, the movie "Adam," and now.. Home Improvement. Well, I suppose that will be all for tonight. It's 2a.m. and I'm exhausted. Good night world! Have a happy weekend!

a squirrel is just a rat with a cuter outfit
Today was quite the adventure! My friend Morgan and I were waiting at the bus stop so we could get to our next class.. and look who decided to wait with us...
I'm thinking he instantly fell in love with Morgan's purse because the little guy just stayed there and let us get as close as we wanted! We figured this might be our only chance to take close up pictures with this baby squirrel so we did..
Naturally, when we were taking the pictures near him we didn't get to close because there was still that fear of the squirrel possibly jumping on our faces and biting us. Thankfully, he didn't do so. Shortly after these pictures were taken, Morgan asked the little fellow if he wanted cheese and I'm assuming since he ran away that it was his way of saying, " No thank you, I came to give you company but now that your bus is here have a great day!" Morgan and I saw his mama come out and we knew he was in trouble. It looked like she gave him a squirrel spanking and made him go back up the tree.
Anyway, today I bought the book "Radical." I',m pretty excited about it, I've been really wanting to read it and now that I've been challenged by a good friend, it makes it easier to read!
Last thing I will share with you are these..
pink converse. I REALLY want them. I saw some girl on the bus wearing them today and I thought.. "hmmm.. those are some shoes that I would wear often." I have the black, brown and had the green for some time but I think it's time to add another color to my collection of converse.

ihop.. leave happy...
Wanna see something SUPER delicious?
That, my friends, is what I like to call "chocolate chip pancakes." Well, actually ihop likes to call it that but I think the name fits just right! So after hours of doing more homework I met up with Brad at an ihop in the middle of Denton and Dallas, and even then.. I took some school stuff just to make sure I'm a head instead of behind with my work. While there, we thought we'd take some fun mac photos.. take a look!
looks like i have a pimple on my nose but I promise I don't!
BAHAHAHAH blackmail photo? I think so.
Looks like Brad has a TOOTH. HA!
I think it's safe to say we are an attractive couple.
We're usually mad.. about 90% of the time...
just playing! We are very happy people!
Thank you Jesus!
Have a lovely night!

pound his face to the ground
Another Tuesday! Nothing much to exciting today, although, I have some fun pictures to share..
this is our "tough" look
this is our.. "we are happy to be alive" look
this is our.. " we like to look like dummies" look.
Pretty exciting, I know. So, Alyssa and I are at Wade's (Alyssa's bro) and Greg's apartment waiting for him to come home and then we hear a knock on the door. At this time we are just hanging with greg (dude in the pics above) and he says "come in." This mexican guy comes in and says " Hey do you guys have a problem?" and Greg's like "uh about what?" and the mexican guy says, " Yeah one of you guys mooned us" and Greg's like, " I don't know what you're talking about man, I've been gone all day" and then the mexican guys like, " Well we was going to say something the other day when it happened but there were some cops roaming around and I didn't want to mess with the situation." Finally, Greg's like, " Alright I don't really know what was going on but I'll talk to the guys." The guy left and we soon found out he lives right under Greg and Wade so there was no way they could've mooned him from the apartment. I think Greg was a bit scared, I think he thought the guy was ready to pound his face to the ground.
I guess my day was pretty exciting after all. Well, hope your Wednesday is great!

aren't they neat little creatures?
I'm so thankful today is over! It's been a very long day of studying. But I'm not going to talk about school because it depresses me. :) Well today I discovered something interesting in my backyard...
Flowers! I'm sure they were there before but I honestly never even noticed them. Then, in the middle of my backyard, next to the swing, I saw these little guys..
Now these babies are brand new. I was pretty excited about them, aren't they neat little creatures?
So today I found out some pretty sad news. One of my roommates (Alyssa), who happens to be one of my best friends, will most likely be moving out for the Spring semester due to student teaching. She'll be moving back home to Allen where her family lives and student teach there. I guess it's all apart of the growing up experience and doing what's more important for our future then what's convenient for our present time. Either way, I know God has wonderful plans and His ways are better than ours. Speaking about God, He's been teaching me so much lately. Mostly about trying to keep Him as the center of basically everything going on in my life. There's this song called, "My everything" by Tim Hughes and if you look up the lyrics its really a great song and a song I believe everyone should listen to everyday as a reminder that God should be our everything in everything we do and wherever we are.

You're never going to be jello
This weekend was absolutely amazing! Probably one of the best weekends I've ever had. On Friday, I headed over to Dallas to spend a little time with my boyfriend then hung out with some buddies from Criswell and was able to learn a thing or two about poker. Saturday morning, I headed back up to good ole Dallas to celebrate one year with my wonderful boyfriend. It was spectacular! He took me to this restaurant called, " Pappas Bros," and it was amazing and very delicious! Brad made reservations in the wine room which made it very romantic.
This was the room except the light were very dim, hence, the romantic part. They served me the best steak I've ever had and the tea, I might add, was phenomenal. when I was younger, "My best friend's wedding," was one of my favorite movies and because of that movie I have always wanted to try Creme Brulee. Well last night was my lucky night! For dessert we have Creme Brulee and around the plate, in chocolate syrup, it spelled out, "Happy Anniversary."
It looked a little something like that. I'm telling you, it was a wonderful evening. Well, until next time! Have a wonderful Sunday!

and then there was a tornado
Today was another splendid day! The first great thing that happened today was I got free chickfila! Yep, it was awesome. I was going through the drive thru and after I ordered, I realized I took my money out of my purse. I decided to let the chickfila employees know, instead of just bailing out on them and them wonder who ordered the chickfila sandwich. As I arrive at the window I apologize to them and let them know I forgot my money but thanks anyways. The man gave me my food and said, " Don't worry about it, it's on me." One of the people in charged asked him why he did that and he said, I will pay for it, I have a coupon anyways. Now wasn't that sweet?
A few hours later I decided to go to Dallas to hang/ study with Brad. So, I'm sitting on the couch, watching 'without a trace,' and all the sudden, I get a text from my roommate wanting to know if I was okay and at the same time I hear the tornado sirens go off. Naturally, I thought, the sirens go off every Wednesday at noon (for testing) in Denton, maybe in Dallas they go off at 6? Then Brad comes in the room, changes 'without a trace' to the weather channel and as it turned out.. there was a tornado in Dallas!
Not to far from where we were actually. About twenty minutes later, the sun came out and Brad, Trace and I went to eat at Genghis Grill. Hmm. I love Genghis Grill. It's pretty much amazing and if you haven't tried it, I recommend you go right now.

joyful day
hooray for blogging again! So much has happened since my last post which was in.. I don't know, July, maybe? Well well, let me tell you about some neat stuff that has happened lately. First, we shall talk about school. Basically, I'm in school from noon til 6:20 every tuesdays and thursdays and even though walking around all day may drive me a bit crazy, i am greatly enjoying the classes I have and the people that are with me.
I went to Odessa this past weekend to go hang out with my boyfriend's (Brad) family. It was my first time ever going to Odessa! It was quite interesting, I was excited to learn about the place that helped form my boyfriend into the crazy man he is today. Brad's mom made some delicious 'special k cookies,'
which I'm pretty sure I've gained about 5 pounds from eating so much but let me tell you something.. it was completely worth it. Yum, yum, yum, don't they look delicious?!
Well, as I'm sure you all know, a beautiful amount of rain was falling from the sky today. For some odd reason I thought, "When I get out of class, I'm sure the rain will go away so why take an umbrella?" .. well, that was kinda, really dumb on my part, since it was pouring after class. Thankfully, this girl came up to me, began talking, found out we had a class together, shared a couple of mutual friends and she shared her umbrella with me as she walked me to my next bus stop. What a blessing!
